How Does an Online Coin Flip Work?
Our coin flip uses your browser’s cryptographic random number generator to pick heads or tails, then animates a 3D coin landing on that side. Each flip is independent and exactly 50/50.
A real coin is very slightly biased – studies of thousands of human flips have found it lands on the side it started on a little more often than half the time. A digital coin has no starting side, no thumb and no table, so it’s actually fairer than the one in your pocket.

Ways to Flip
Single flip
One quick toss for a simple decision.
Best of 3
Three flips – the side that wins two takes it. Great for settling arguments.
10 or 100 coins
See probability in action: the more you flip, the closer you get to 50%.
Heads/tails wheel
Prefer spinning? Use the wheel above – it has the same 50/50 odds.
Coin Flip Odds & Streaks
| Event | Probability |
|---|---|
| Heads on one flip | 50% |
| Two heads in a row | 25% |
| Three heads in a row | 12.5% |
| Five heads in a row | 3.1% |
| Ten heads in a row | 0.1% (1 in 1,024) |
Streaks feel suspicious but they’re normal. In 100 flips, a run of five or six of the same side is very likely. The stats counter shows your longest streak so you can watch it happen.
